Bracken Recruitment is currently recruiting a Buyer to join an established Main Contractor with a fantastic reputation in the London region.
The position would suit someone with previous experience within the UK market with a Main or Sub Contractor background.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Place material and plant orders from written and verbal requisitions with approved suppliers
- Obtain quotes and negotiate prices with suppliers
- Source specified and alternative materials within the market space ensuring technical compliance
- Research the market, source and evaluate potential new suppliers
- Comply and work within existing company QA and procedural parameters
- Expedite orders and chase outstanding deliveries
- Resolve invoice price and delivery queries with suppliers
- Manage the hiring and off hiring of plant
- Create and manage a hired and owned plant register
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
- Knowledge of the construction industry would be beneficial.
- Comfortable with working to tight deadlines and within a fast-paced environment.
- Great organisational skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge and experience in managing and maintaining data.
- Previous experience in building effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word applications and experience with managing and maintaining data.
