Role:

The position of Project Manager is accountable for managing parts of larger projects or smaller projects that have been solely allocated to you with limited complexity, to ensure zero harm, quality and on time delivery.   
This position generally focuses on the completion of set tasks and project activities that are core services. A Project Manager is generally an entry level position working closely with Contracts Managers for guidance and support. 

 

This position has the following primary accountabilities: 

  • Work closely with the Contracts/ Operations Manager to plan and deliver project tasks and outcomes in accordance with schedule;
  • A strong focus on the safety and quality aspects of the project;
  • Reviewing and validating plans and drawings and interface with design engineers and draftsmen to ensure accuracy;
  • Complete routine engineering tasks including take offs after the project handover to enable ordering of material and equipment in accordance with the project specification and engineering details and within the boundaries of the DOA;
  • Application of technical and engineering expertise to the project;
  • Engagement and management, ensuring paperwork is in place, inductions completed and work standards / schedules are being adhered to;
  • Day to day operational and site engagement with clients;
  • Management of Site Supervisors & Site Engineers;
  • Assist with updating project program to comply with contractual requirements 
  • Site supervision and direction of the works and application of safety practices and standards;
  • Help with preparation of all project QSE documents;
  • Under supervision - forecast, program and cost control, building competence and awareness of budget and cost management on a monthly basis;
  • Keep accurate as-built records & production schedules that can be used by the Quantity Surveying Department in the production of contract monthly valuations and payment of any sub-contractors;
  • Perform ITP’s, quality assurance and coordinating sub-contractors on a day to day basis;
  •  Assist with project close outs and project reporting as required;
  • Weekly site safety inspections; and
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks/duties to deliver projects whilst in your role.
