Our client is an established UK Utilities Contractor with experience of delivering diverse projects. They currently have an excellent opportunity for High Voltage Electrical / Mechanical Site Managers with a proven and experienced background in Substations, High Voltage & Health and Safety.

The Company is looking for candidates to carry out the role of Substation Site Manager, carrying out High Voltage Substation refurbishment and Construction work within our teams based across the south. Work requirements will vary from small work programmes managing small site teams, through to major construction / refurbishment projects under CDM.

 

 

The Role:

  • Overseeing all areas of work on site
  • Quality Management within the works
  • Site Office organisation: ensuring the good working order of site facilities.
  • Site inductions
  • Coordination of RAMS Review and acceptance/filing- with understanding of the safety/delivery implications
  • Daily Site diary
  • Coordination of any comms received under CDM as Principal Contractor representative
    Ensuring all paperwork is managed and kept secure on all site matters.
  • Adhering and ensuring Health and Safety procedures on site
  • Planning, controlling and managing the delivery of day-to-day operations on site.
  • Instil a strong safety culture and develop the capability of our project team(s) to take personal responsibility through strong visible leadership.
  • Drive yourself and others to comply with all business policies, procedures and governance
  • Support the Project Manager/Project Engineer lead on developing a high-performance culture.
  • Promote a professional image on site.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A good understanding of carrying out Substation Installation / Construction works for a DNO client.
  • Be able to work proactively within a team environment.
  • SMSTS
  • FIRST AID
  • Experience of managing CDM projects in high voltage substations.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience is a similar role.
  • Hold appropriate level of DNO authorisation.
  • Completion of Recognised Training Scheme.
  • Current Safety Passport.
  • Demonstrable commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • IT Literate
  • Desirable – Plant Operator certificate – eg IPAF, PASMA,
